In his 2016 book, The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck: A Counterintuitive Approach to Living a Good Life, Mark Manson argues that the key to happiness is to stop trying to be happy and instead focus on finding meaning in life.
He argues that we all have a limited amount of f*cks to give and that we should be choosy about which things we give them to. He argues that we should not waste our f*cks on things that don’t matter, such as material possessions or social status.
The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck key points are:
1. You can’t (and shouldn’t try to) please everyone.
2. You can’t do everything.
3. You can’t be everything to everyone.
4. You can’t have everything.
5. You can’t be perfect.
6. You can’t control everything.
7. You can’t fix everything.
8. You can’t know everything.
